HEAR THE CANNON SHOT AND SEE IT STRIKE THE HOUSE...Here was the heart of Lewes in the late 18th century. The Cannonball House, 118 Front Street, contains an excellent marine museum.

The house was built in 1797 and gets its name from the cannonball that struck the house during the British bombardment of Lewes during the war of 1812. The cannonball is still visible in the foundation of the house.
